Lovecraft eZine Megapacks

The Lovecraft eZine, a monthly magazine featuring Lovecraftian horror and the Cthulhu Mythos, has released a couple of collections or “megapacks” of stories for purchase as an ebook.  The first, collecting issues 1-9 of the eZine, includes my story The Slickens.

Given a “thumbs-up” by Lovecraft guru S.T. Joshi, The Lovecraft eZine regularly publishes well-known writers such as Stephen Mark Rainey, W.H. Pugmire, Ann K. Schwader, Joseph S. Pulver, William Meikle, me and many more.

The stated goal of The Lovecraft eZine is “to provide high quality Lovecraftian fiction at a reasonable price,” and I’d say they’ve pretty much knocked it out of the park.  If you like Mythos fiction, it’s a publication and community well worth checking out!

New Story: The Slickens

A short story of mine, “The Slickens,” appeared today in the third issue of the Lovecraft eZine.

This new web webzine is for fans of H.P. Lovecraft’s work and legacy.  Describing itself as “a free online magazine featuring lovecraftian horror,” the website has already nabbed stories by some great authors.  The site’s editor/creator, Mike Davis, is bootstrapping together a top notch publication, and best of all he’s paying his writers, which is a rarity anymore.  Altogether a class act!

H.P. Lovecraft

Tor declared this H.P. Lovecraft month.  Since not everyone is familiar with H.P. Lovecraft, I found these YouTube videos of a BBC Radio 3 biography entitled “Weird Tales: The Strange Life of H.P. Lovecraft.”  They are a wonderful introduction to his life, work and influence:

Tor Books has declared this December H.P. Lovecraft month which is maybe random, but is also cool because all this month the Tor blog will feature “articles, stories, and comics relating to the Lovecraft Mythos.”  It’s only 10 days in and they’ve already got a ton of interesting material to peruse, so jet on over and check it out.
